What is QCMA?

From Official Website: 'Qcma is a cross-platform application to provide a Open Source implementation of the original Content Manager Assistant that comes with the PS Vita. Qcma is meant to be compatible with Linux, Windows and MAC OS X.'

Features

The aim of this project is to provide an implementation that is on par with the official CMA and also offer some features missing in the original one.

Implemented features.

Metadata for PSP savedatas.
Basic metadata for single songs (album, artist, title, cover art).
Basic metadata for videos (duration, dimensions, thumbnail).
Basic metadata for photos (dimensions, thumbnails).
Simple backup browser: view and delete the backups on your PC without a Vita.
Easy wireless pairing (show PIN to the user when a Vita is detected).
Ability to restart the connection if the Vita is reconnected.

TODO:

Complete categories for music.
Persistent backend for database.

Android version: port of Qcma to Android.

This is a maintenance-only release with very few features:

QCMA v0.3.10

+ Sort game entries alphabetically on the Vita side.
+ Fixed bug where users from some countries couldn't connect to qcma since the update xml provided wasn't valid for them.
+ Changed dbus support for unix signals on qcma_cli (linux only)
+ Added support for Ubuntu Wily, Fedora 23 and Debian Jessie.
- Removed support for Ubuntu utopic and vivid, Fedora 22 and Debian wheezy.

Warning: Some users (me included) reports that full backup restores fails sometimes on FW 3.51 (but works OK on 3.55). This seems a bug on the firmware itself since it happens too with the official Sony CMA. Not sure if this affects < 3.51. Individual game backup restores seems to work fine.

From now i won't be including new features and will be only be fixing some bugs on Qcma since i lack the time to deal with this project. Also i started the Qcma2 project some months ago so hopefully i can bring proper android support, multi account and remove the need for database reescans. There is no ETA for this one since i work on it on my free time.

Starting Content Manager Assistant

Usually, Content Manager Assistant is started automatically when your computer starts.

Windows:

Check the notification area of the taskbar to verify that the application is running.

To start the application manually, click [Start] > [All Programs] > [Content Manager Assistant for PlayStation®] on your computer. When the application starts, its icon appears in the notification area on the taskbar.

Mac:

Check for the menu extra on the menu bar to verify that the application is running.

To start the application manually, select [Go] > [Applications] > [Content Manager Assistant] in the Finder. When the application starts, its icon appears in the menu bar as a menu extra.

Checking or changing folders accessed by your system

You can set the folders that your system accesses for each application.

Windows:

To check or change the folders, right click the Content Manager Assistant icon in the notification area of the taskbar, and then click [Settings].

Mac:

To check or change the folders, click the Content Manager Assistant icon in the menu bar, and then click [Preferences].

The versions of Content Manager Assistant and system software must be compatible. Always update Content Manager Assistant and the system software of your system to the latest version.
When you connect your system to a computer using a USB cable and start (Content Manager) on your system, Content Manager Assistant automatically checks for a newer software version and notifies you if one is available. Follow the on-screen instructions to update the software.

To update Content Manager Assistant, the computer must be connected to the Internet.
